Figured I should update this site, it's been like six months. A lot has happened since my last post, most notably changing career paths and moving out. Long story short, I switched from computer science to trade school (HVAC). I think I've made a good decision and I'm enjoying it so far, more so than computers at least. I like working on computers as a hobby, but I've found that working in the tech industry was not very enjoyable. Personally I like jobs where I work with my hands and get to go different places, rather than desk work. While I'm at school, I've moved into a relatives place. It's a nice place, in a more rural part of town with cows roaming around the yard.
In my free time I've mostly been doing the usual things but I've been trying to read more books lately. Some books I've been reading recently are "The Time Machine" (H.G Wells), "Man and His Symbols" (Carl Jung), a couple of H.P Lovecraft's stories, and "Faust" (Goethe). Also my refrigeration textbook.
My friend and I have been playing music together once a week for a few months now, and another guy has recently joined us. We haven't written any original stuff or anything, but we've been practing covering a bunch of songs. We're going by the name "Riptide" but that might change whenever.
Feeling: Decent
I've been writing in a dream journal because I want to remember my dreams better, and it actually works pretty good. I used to remember my dreams maybe around once a week, now I remember every other night. I also managed to get lucid twice, both of those instances only lasted a few minutes but it was really cool anyways. I levitated and flew around a bit before the dream faded away. There's been dream locations that I've been to that I thought were really nice. One was a tropical beach where it seemed like time was frozen at sunset. It was like a cove accessible by a trail and it was surrounded by mountains towards the land and endless ocean. There was also a big wooden cabin/lodge thing, but I didn't go inside.
About a week ago I saw Death Grips, it was a really fun time. Me and my friend got there early, and we were one of the first ones in so we were close to the front. The show was super intense and loud as expected, and they played a lot of songs I was hoping to hear (System Blower, Black Paint, Hacker, etc..). I'm really happy I got to see them, and hopefully they'll come back around here sometime in the future.
Feeling: Rested
So my friend and I have been talking about the idea of starting a band. He's a bass player and I do guitar and drums (not at the same time). Right now it's just a fun weekend thing to do, but I know he wants to do live shows at some point. It'll be a while if that happens, we still have a lot to learn, and we don't even have a name yet.
We've been practicing by covering random songs, since we haven't tried writing our own yet. We'll probably be doing some kind of punk rock, but I want to get a different kind of sound that hasn't been done a million times before, maybe with some kind of genre fusion. I'm not expecting it to go anywhere, but if you're from the future and found this website because we got super famous, hello and welcome to my online brain dumpster.
In other news, I got tickets to see Death Grips in May, which is gonna be awesome!!
Feeling: Alright
IT'S A NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!
i feel no different
